Materials You’ll Need

Crochet Halter Top Pattern Instructions
Section 1: Bodice Band
With MC and H/8 hook, ch 130. Join with sl st to form a ring (careful not to twist).
Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count), sc in each ch around, join. (130 sc)
Rounds 2–16: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. (130 sc)
Fasten off, leave a 24-inch tail.
The band should measure about 4 inches tall and 32.5 inches around.
Fold the top half (Rounds 1–8) down inside so the top edge meets the bottom of Round 8. Whipstitch the folded edge to the inside of Round 9 all the way around. Turn right side out. You now have a neat 2-inch double-layer top edge.
Section 2: Halter Ties
Join yarn at the exact center front of the folded top edge.
Option A: Braid one long cord about 70 inches. Attach the midpoint to center front. The two ends go around the neck and tie at the back.

Place marker in first sc. Work in continuous spiral from here.
Round 2: Sc in first ch-2 sp, ch 2, (sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2) around.
Round 3: Sc in first sc, ch 2, (sc in next sc, ch 2) around.
Rounds 4–8: Keep alternating—even rounds into the spaces, odd rounds into the sc stitches.
Mesh Increase Round 9: Sc in first sc, ch 2, (sc in next sc, ch 2) 10 times, [sc in next sc, ch 2, sc in same sc, ch 2], repeat the increase two more times spaced evenly, then continue to end. (47 sc, 47 spaces)
Rounds 10–12: Alternate as before.
Mesh Increase Round 13: Same idea, spacing three increases evenly. (50 sc, 50 spaces)
Rounds 14–16: Alternate.
Sl st to close. Fasten off.
Mesh section should now measure about 8 inches tall and 37–38 inches around at the bottom.
Section 4: Hem Border
Join MC to any sc of the last mesh round.
Round 1: Ch 1, (sc in sc, 2 sc in ch-2 sp) around, join. (150 sc)
Rounds 2–6: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join. (150 sc)
Fasten off.
Attach tassels into the final round, every 2 stitches for a medium fringe (about 75 tassels) or every stitch for dense fringe.
Section 5: Flowers and Leaves
Make three flowers (one dusty rose, one cream, one mixed). Make two leaves in sage.
Sew them at center front of the bodice, just below the folded edge, slightly off-center. Fan the leaves behind the flowers. Weave ends on the wrong side.
Size Tweaks and Finishing
Change the starting chain in multiples of 3 for other sizes.
XS (30-inch bust): start with 118, adjust to 120.
Medium (34–36): start with 138.
Large (38): start with 152, adjust to 153.
Add more solid rounds for a taller band. Add extra even mesh rounds for more length. One more increase round gives extra hip flare.
