- 4 slices thick-cut bread like sourdough or French bread
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp butter melted
- ½ tsp dried Italian herbs or parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
Cut bread slices into cubes and spread evenly in the dish.
In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, garlic, melted butter, herbs, salt, and pepper.
Stir in mozzarella and half the Parmesan cheese.
Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, pressing gently to soak.
Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until custard is set and golden.
Let cool slightly before serving.
