- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 4 –6 slices of thick French bread or sandwich rolls
- 3 tbsp butter softened
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned; drain excess fat.
Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
Mix butter, garlic powder, and parsley; spread onto bread slices.
Toast bread under broiler or in oven until golden.
Spoon sloppy joe mixture onto garlic bread, top with cheese.
Broil again for 1–2 minutes until cheese melts.
Serve hot and enjoy with napkins — it's gloriously messy!
