Ingredients

  • 1 large round loaf of sourdough or Italian bread
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Using a sharp knife, cut the bread into 1-inch wide criss-cross slices, without cutting all the way through.
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and Italian seasoning.
  • Carefully open the cuts in the bread and drizzle garlic butter into the cracks.
  • Stuff shredded mozzarella evenly between the slices.
  • Sprinkle the top with Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Unwrap and bake for another 5–10 minutes until golden and melty.
  • Serve hot—pull apart and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a dense loaf so it holds its shape when stuffed.
  • Great for sharing at parties, game day, or alongside pasta dishes.
  • Customize with cooked bacon bits, jalapeños, or different cheeses.
  • Best enjoyed fresh out of the oven!
