- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 oz semisweet chocolate chopped
- 2 tsp unflavored gelatin
- 3 tbsp cold water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
- Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let sit 5 minutes.
In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
Add chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Add softened gelatin and stir until completely dissolved.
Pour mixture into serving glasses or molds.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
- To unmold panna cotta, briefly dip the mold in warm water before inverting.
- Can be made 1–2 days in advance.
