Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate chopped
  • 2 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tbsp cold water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let sit 5 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
  • Add chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Add softened gelatin and stir until completely dissolved.
  • Pour mixture into serving glasses or molds.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • To unmold panna cotta, briefly dip the mold in warm water before inverting.
  • Can be made 1–2 days in advance.
