- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can 12 oz evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt sugar until golden, swirling gently—do not stir.
Quickly pour caramel into a 9-inch round baking dish, tilting to coat bottom evenly.
In a blender, combine eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla; blend until smooth.
Pour mixture over set caramel.
Place baking dish in a larger pan, add hot water halfway up the sides (water bath).
Bake 50 minutes or until set but slightly jiggly in center.
Cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
To serve, run a knife around edges, invert onto a plate, and let caramel sauce coat the top.
- For extra creaminess, strain the custard mixture before pouring it over caramel.
