Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 14 oz bag caramels, unwrapped
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp sea salt optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13" pan with parchment.
  • Mix butter, flour, and powdered sugar into a dough.
  • Press into the bottom of the pan and bake for 18–20 mins until golden.
  • In a saucepan, melt caramels with heavy cream over low heat, stirring.
  • Pour caramel over baked crust and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle pecans over the caramel layer.
  • Melt chocolate chips and drizzle or spread over the top.
  • Optionally sprinkle sea salt while chocolate is still soft.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate for a richer twist.
  • Store in the fridge for firmer bars or room temp for softer texture.
  • Bars can be made 1–2 days ahead for events.
  • A sprinkle of flaky salt enhances the sweet-salty combo.
