Ingredients
  

  • 2 large Granny Smith apples peeled and cut into 8 wedges
  • 2 8 oz cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7UP

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent dough triangle and place in the dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter, then stir in sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the dumplings.
  • Gently pour soda around the edges (not directly on dumplings).
  • Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith for the best flavor balance.
You can halve the sugar or butter if you prefer it lighter.
This dessert is best served fresh but can be reheated in the microwave.
