- 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place sliced strawberries in a bowl and mix with 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
In another bowl, whisk flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla; stir until combined.
Pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Spoon strawberries evenly over batter (do not stir).
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
Cool slightly before serving.
- Fresh strawberries give the best flavor, but frozen can be used.
