Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place apples in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Drizzle apples with lemon juice.
  • In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until topping is golden and apples are tender.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for the best flavor.
  • Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
