These golden-brown, chewy soft pretzels are stuffed with gooey mozzarella cheese, making them an irresistible snack or appetizer. Perfect for game nights, parties, or just when you’re craving cheesy comfort food. Serve warm with marinara or mustard for dipping.

- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter melted
- 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
- 10 cups water for boiling
- ⅔ cup baking soda
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse salt for topping
In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let stand 5 minutes until foamy.
Stir in flour, salt, and melted butter; knead into a smooth dough.
Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Divide dough into 8 pieces; roll each into a rope and wrap around a mozzarella stick.
In a large pot, boil 10 cups water and baking soda.
Carefully drop each pretzel into the boiling water for 30 seconds; remove and drain.
Place on prepared baking sheet; brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake 12–14 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm with dipping sauce.
- Use cold mozzarella sticks to prevent melting too early.
- You can brush with garlic butter after baking for extra flavor.
- Best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.
