- 3 lbs chuck roast or rump roast
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 6 hoagie rolls or French sandwich rolls
- 12 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Place roast in slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
Add onion soup mix, beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire, and spices.
Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or until beef is tender.
Remove beef and shred with two forks.
Strain cooking juices and set aside as au jus.
Toast rolls under broiler with sliced cheese until melted.
Pile shredded beef on rolls and serve with warm au jus for dipping.
