Soft Pretzel Bites are chewy, golden, and slightly salty—perfect for snacking, game day, or as an appetizer. They have a tender inside with a deliciously crisp outer layer. Serve them warm with cheese dip or mustard for the ultimate treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 10 cups water for boiling
  • cup baking soda for boiling
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse salt for topping

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit 5 mins until foamy.
  • Add flour, salt, and melted butter; mix until dough forms.
  • Knead dough for 5 mins, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line baking sheet with parchment.
  • Bring water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
  • Cut dough into bite-size pieces; boil in batches for 30 seconds.
  • Place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash, sprinkle with coarse salt.
  • Bake 10–12 mins until golden brown.

Notes

  • Best served warm with cheese sauce or mustard.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • For sweeter bites, skip salt topping and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar after baking.
