Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk optional
  • Colored sanding sugar blue, pink, yellow, purple
  • 24 Hershey Kisses or Cadbury Mini Eggs unwrapped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg, vanilla extract, and milk; mix until combined.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients; mix until dough forms.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls; roll balls in colored sanding sugar.
  • Place on baking sheets spaced apart.
  • Bake 7-10 minutes until edges just begin to turn golden.
  • Remove from oven; immediately press a chocolate kiss or mini eggs into the center of each cookie.
  • Cool completely on wire rack before serving.

Notes

  • If dough is too sticky, chill for 20 minutes before rolling.
  • Use your favorite colors of sanding sugar for a festive look.
  • Cookies are best enjoyed fresh for soft texture and melty chocolate.
  • Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days.
